Chantalle & Matty

Our Story

Happy Hour.

Almost six years ago Matty got an invite to attend a “Young Professionals Happy Hour” with some colleagues. Ever ambitious, he agreed – not knowing that he would soon meet his future wife.

Matty arrived at a parking lot in Philly, where his colleagues and a friend of his – the venerable Blaine Fritz – awaited. And there she was. Chantalle Le… Tall. Confident. Beautiful. She introduced herself kindly.

Matty fumbled through his professional and educational background. Pouring over his experiences fishing, free-diving, paddling, shooting – Chantalle was skeptical of such tales coming from a gangly “dude” from New York. Suffice it to say, it was not love at first sight.

However, love, being the ineffable force that it is, had a different story in mind for us. Fortunately, Blaine was a great mutual friend of both Matty and Chantalle. Unbeknownst to Chantalle, Matty was enamored by his first meeting of Chantalle. Blaine, ever a true wingman, “happened” to always be around for “chance encounters” between Chantalle and Matty. With more time spent together, they realized that they had much more in common – and that there was far more to one another – than when they first met.

Weeks later, after many hours talking late into the night at Hawthornes Cafe, a night out, and a particularly excellent batch of apple cinnamon pancakes, Chantalle and Matty started dating.

We have been together for five-and-a-half years now; four of which have been long-distance. We have moved all around the country — Philadelphia, Raleigh, San Francisco, Thousand Oaks, Mamaroneck — and now we are finally in the same place.

We are super excited for our special day together. And we cannot wait to share it with you all.

P.s. – For those considering a long-distance relationship, know that it can work. In doing so, here some unique super powers you can look forward to acquiring:

  • Knowledge of every possible communication platform there is
  • Mastery of screen sharing
  • Ability to fall asleep with bright lights in your face
  • Mastery of cross-country flight knowledge
  • Ability to get through airport security and onto a plane in 15 minutes tops

We’re so excited for you to come hang with us. To make sure everyone is equipped to enjoy the day, here are a few important things to know:

This wedding will be outdoors. The reception is on the grass (the venue is basically a garden), and Andre is wearing his Jordans… so let’s all plan accordingly. We want you to be up and mingling so leave your spiky heels at home for maximum agility. We’re doing all we can to control the weather, but if our powers fail us, we suggest bringing a light jacket.

Dress code is Snappy Casual. Do not feel the need to wear floor-length dresses or tuxedos. Be comfortable, but make us say ‘damnnn’ when we see you.

Valet & Parking at the venue. Lyft, Uber or drive to Rancho Del Cielo – 5591 Murphy Way, Malibu, CA 90265. The venue can accommodate 50-60 vehicles and will have a valet. We encourage carpooling and/or designating a driver wherever possible.

No kids. We love kids — especially yours — but our venue is small.

Stay off your phones. We would love to see you, not your phone. We got a bomb photographer to help with photos. Let the man work.

Have fun!
